Meet the Helping Paws/Pet Talk Family

Meet Milo, For eleven years, our wonderful white, blue-eyed feline star of Pet Talk, gave the general public a cat's eye view of life. With opinions on declawing, assistance cats and President Clinton, one never knew what Milo would do next. Milo left us in August of 2007, but he continues to give us guidance from his spot on the Rainbow Bridge.

Star, as small as Milo was large, is a six month old white purebred Munchkin who shares the same eye color with Milo. Star is non-hearing and spent her time with us educating people how having a disability made you special. Star is spending her retirement years with an older couple and enjoying being an only cat.

Daisy is now nine years old. she is a Dogo Argentino, and also one of our rescues. At three months old she was used as "Pitt Bait" and when we found her in a Massachusetts shelter, she was full of cuts, bits and scars. At 75 pounds she is a big mush dog and loves her cat brothers and sisters

Rene and Clint Knapp are the founders of Helping Paws. For many years they produced a public access television show called Pet Talk.
Rene still writes a weekly column for the Norwich Bulletin (see the columns on this site). After eleven years, Helping Paws is no longer actively taking in cats, but the Knapps and their volunteers are raising money to help spay and neuter strays, ferals and pets of low income families and seniors. They also continue to list cats up for adoption. These cats have been rescued by individuals who are willing to keep the cat in their home until adoption. Helping Paws actively works to find these cats homes.
